last launch post (probably)

As well as flowers, I received a number of other precious gifts at Violet’s launch yesterday and two of them were from artists I had never met before. One was Sarah, Violet’s wonderful illustrator, who gave me some of the original artwork from Violet Mackerel’s Brilliant Plot. I’m over the moon to have these! They are off to the framers tomorrow.

The other was from Lilie, the little sister of a friend of mine who I have heard lots about (and even received a beautiful picture from before, which you can see here) but never actually met. She was so beautiful at the launch with flowers in her hair that one of the other children asked if she was a ‘real fairy’. I was secretly wondering too…

Anyway, yesterday Lilie gave me this beautiful rainbow which I LOVE.

If you’re not all launched out, Sarah has put some lovely pictures on her blog, which you can see alongside her lovely description of the day here.

And now I will try not to do any more posts about Violet’s launch, I promise!

More! More! More! Never too ‘launched out’! I love seeing all of the art you’ve received lately.

  • Dearest Anna:

I have been thrilled and delighted by every single word about your book launch. I am not at all surprised to hear that flower fairies attended and feel sure they linger on in the bouquets in your home. Each photo is a delight – just another of your many special talents. I have a sneaking suspicion that YOU ARE Queen of the Flower Fairies! Would love to see a photo of your flower bedecked room. luvdianaxxx

  • You’re really being showered in loveliness right now! All those pictures are lovely & special. :)

  • Wow, those illustrations are GORGEOUS. How kind of your illustrator to pass those on to you.

What a wonderful community event your launch seems to have been.

    A perfectly lovely day.

  • [...] sure what sorts of things the children would find interesting but I packed some books, some of Sarah’s beautiful original artwork from Violet Mackerel’s Brilliant Plot and lots of small things in little violet-coloured [...]
